:: How Far Would You Get?

mysterious snow tracks
❝ My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was sixty. She's ninety-seven now, and we don't know where the heck she is.❞
~ Ellen DeGeneres
Just imagine, if you walked unplugged from electronics, with hands free to throw a ball or hold a loved one's hand. Just imagine, if you walked until your worries drifted off. Just imagine, if you walked, aware only of the world around you. Just imagine, if you walked until the novel solution to a complexity arrived in all its wonder. Just imagine, for a moment, if you walked and talked instead of avoiding one close to you. Just imagine, if you walked as far as the critters wanted to walk each day!
Just imagine the possibilities, the incredible awareness you could wrap around you as you turned to face each day. What a wonderful way to shift your reality into a calmer, more peaceful way of being.
But, considering I walk once a week and never as far as the dogs would like, and never letting go of my anxiety... it is no wonder my gentler, kinder reality remains elusive.
There is a wonderful world out there. For a moment take a look at it through the eyes of a small determined miniature Dachshund named Little Bit.
