:: and a Quick Finish it Was
Here it is, my first F.Y.D.P. finish --The Curly Fringe Scarf! It was crochet with Lionbrand Bonbons using one of the free patterns highlighting this yarn. I do wish I knew the secret to the perfect curls I see on the ends of the model's scarf. But remember, Self, it is not about perfection, but finding enjoyment in creating!
Mid-January and I'm outside in a t-shirt, wonderful weather!
So that makes the count:
Finished: 1
Started New: 1
!?!
How did that "Started New" slip in there? Starting New? The whole idea is to finish projects taking up space, not starting new! Somehow I found the magazine open, somehow the little kit was laid out before me, somehow the threads were sorted and a needle threaded... And Tada! something new is started. Rather easy, wasn't it.
The "I'm Always Starting Something New" evidence ....
It shouldn't take long to stitch, should it?
On another note, every time I look at the photo of myself, I do not see the pretty colourful scarf, the bright sunny day, all the firewood ready for the coldest part of our year, the warm break in our cold winter... What registers is how short and round I am. I thought I was well on the way to accepting myself the way I am and who I am I, too. At the end of 2013 I took a look at the need to address this distorted vision of myself and sense of self-worth. It appears to be a truly ongoing learning process: I refuse to let this view of my thought processes trap me into giving up. I will concentrate on acceptance and reach the point my self-worth does not depend on how much I accomplish and what I look like. Onward!
So, tell me, does picking up any sort of exercise program after a long hiatus count as working on an unfinished project or starting a brand new one? That is how long it has been since I have moved myself into any sort of movement. The scarf! The Scarf! I'm celebrating finishing a project I started last summer and NOT looking at the short round human! ;)
