:: Sweetie Designed and Built!!

the perfect canary cage set-up!
Since I mentioned cleaning canary cages yesterday (which I didn't…) I thought I would share pictures of the rack of cages my sweetie designed and built.

I dreamt one night of a little girl outside of the drug store with my little horse under her arm. I hope she finds her special horse.

At least that is what the dachshunds thought, as they thundered up the stairs... barking, of course. INTRUDER ALERT!!! What did they see? More than a painted canvas, obviously. INTRUDER ALERT!!! I must admit it looks pretty good for a paint-by-number at the far end of a tunnel. But I never imagined the dogs would need to be held up and allowed to sniff a painting; it's just a paint-by-number, guys! We go back down the stairs... INTRUDER ALERT!!!

Over the years I have collected materials to create some special idea: yarn, fabric, all manner of crafty things, paint, threads, candy for the Gingerbread House I was determined to make ... who knows how long ago that bag was stashed.
One part of my gigantic storage space, (thank-you sweetie) holds the results of shopping trips south. When you have no local fabric or craft stores, you make lists of what you most want to make, and wait until the next trip Down Below. Then you exhaust yourself looking for esoteric items whilst frantically trying to remember what supplies are waiting back home. Once you finally arrive in the Room of Creativeness, the same desperation applies... why did I purchase this, or this, and that. Into a box, lost, forgotten adding to the pressure on my soul.

You know it has been cold when: -20C feels balmy. It is a relief to open the door and be able to breathe the frigid air rushing past you. Make it a double dose of relief when the dogs are actually willing to go outside after requesting door service.

My first creative type finish in years.
Two of them where actually mailed on time to the Birthday Kids.
These cards were a kit purchased at least two centuries ago. All the sparklies grabbed my attention like a squirrel attracts dachshunds. Must have sparklies, must, must get squirrel. Oh, the low levels my mind and attention span has sunk. Shiny!!!!

Step by step and another new start. May-be this time I will discover who I am.

This is a fabricated, misleading slice of my desk area. It is untrue 98.7% of the time. It represents the ideal, the image of of my corner before I pop into existence. Ignore the cable mess. The only time they are a vision of perfection is for the ten 10 seconds allotted after tying them into position. Instead feast your eyes upon a work space set up to delight my soul.

Here it is, my first F.Y.D.P. finish --The Curly Fringe Scarf! It was crochet with Lionbrand Bonbons using one of the free patterns highlighting this yarn. I do wish I knew the secret to the perfect curls I see on the ends of the model's scarf. But remember, Self, it is not about perfection, but finding enjoyment in creating!
